NYC · Vegas · CT a weekend of music, culture, and rediscovery.

A Quick Note from Me

The X Guide is officially back.

I took a little break over the past few months to travel, reset, and explore a bit more of the world. Sometimes stepping away from your routine is the only way to see things clearly again. New cities, new conversations, random music spilling out of bars, and the kind of small moments that remind you how much energy is out there if you actually go looking for it.

During that time I kept doing what this guide was always meant to do. Paying attention to what is happening around us. The places people are gathering. The shows worth seeing. The little corners of a city that make a weekend feel memorable.

So this edition of The X Guide is the start of the next chapter. Same idea as before, but with fresh perspective and a few more discoveries along the way.

Every week I will be sharing a quick guide to what is happening across a few cities I love and spend time in.

NYC. Vegas. Connecticut.

Let’s get into it.

Weekend Mix — curated for this guide

→ → MY PICK!!!!!

Think electronic energy, indie pop, and a few nostalgic throwbacks that somehow still hit every time.

New York City

Theme: Underground Energy + Cultural Revival

Friday Plans

World of Drum and Bass — Brooklyn

A late night electronic gathering pulling DJs and fans from all over the city. Warehouse energy, heavy bass, packed dance floors. If you want the kind of night where you forget what time it is, this is the move.

Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra — El Museo del Barrio

A completely different pace. Big band energy mixed with Latin jazz traditions. Culture, rhythm, and musicianship in one room.

Saturday Headliners

“The Wild Party” — NYC Center Encores!

A revival of the infamous Prohibition era musical about a chaotic party night that spirals out of control. Dark, theatrical, and very New York.

Reggae and Dancehall Party Nights

Multiple Brooklyn venues are leaning into Caribbean dancehall vibes this weekend. Expect throwback hits, packed dance floors, and the kind of crowd that actually came to dance.

Sunday Wind Down

Classic NYC reset:

• walk through Central Park

• brunch in the West Village

• gallery hop in Chelsea

• sunset along the Hudson

Sometimes the best Sunday plan is having no real plan at all.

The X Pick

The Brooklyn drum and bass night. Nothing resets your brain like losing track of time on a dance floor.

Las Vegas

Theme: Spectacle + Nightlife

Vegas never really needs a reason.

Friday Plans

The classic Vegas formula still works:

• Cirque shows

• DJ residencies

• late dinners on the strip

If you want nostalgia with serious production value, Michael Jackson ONE is still one of the best shows in the city.

Saturday Headliners

Vegas Saturdays are about choosing your own adventure.

Day

• pool parties

• brunch buffets

• shopping at the Forum Shops

Night

• DJ residencies

• speakeasy lounges

• casino wandering

Vegas rewards curiosity. Sometimes the best night starts with no real plan.

Sunday Wind Down

The Vegas Sunday rule:

Brunch → pool → nap → one last drink before the airport.

Connecticut

Theme: Cozy Local Energy

Connecticut is underrated if you lean into the slower rhythm.

Friday Plans

Pi Day Food Adventures

Pizza and pie deals are popping up across the state. A simple excuse to explore a few bakeries, grab a slice, and support some local spots.

Saturday Headliners

Royal Rosé — Foxwoods Resort Casino

A massive rosé tasting event featuring wines, cocktails, and seltzers. Basically a preview of summer in a glass.

Heaven — New Haven Dance Night

Post disco, synth funk, and electro. Small venue, fun crowd, and a proper dance floor if you want something different from the usual bar scene.

Sunday Wind Down

The Connecticut formula:

• farmers market

• local coffee shop

• scenic walk

• brewery stop

Simple things done well.

The X Take

This weekend feels like a reset.

New York is buzzing with underground music and theater.

Vegas is doing what Vegas always does — spectacle and chaos.

Connecticut is quietly offering cozy gems if you slow down enough to notice them.

After traveling and stepping away for a while, one thing became clear.

You do not actually need a massive event to have a great weekend.

You just need good energy, a little curiosity, and the right people around you.

So wherever you are this weekend

Step outside.

Try something new.

And let the night surprise you.
